What's new in UAE TaxLab
Every update to the UAE TaxLab simulator and course, newest first.
The Android app on Google Play, chapter videos, a bigger exam and interview prep
- The UAE TaxLab Android app is live on Google Play, with the story course, chapter videos, your certificate and the demo UAE Pass, in English, Arabic, Hindi, Malayalam and Tagalog.
- A walkthrough video for every chapter, with English captions, at the top of the chapter. Free-chapter videos are free to watch; the rest come with the Course + Practice Pack.
- Every chapter video is now also narrated in Hindi and Malayalam: the free chapters for everyone, the rest with the Course + Practice Pack. The player picks your language, and you can switch.
- Final exam: the question bank grew from 50 to 150. Each attempt draws its own 50 questions, spread across the chapters.
- Certificates: add yours to LinkedIn in one click, and copy a ready-made CV summary that describes the course honestly.
- New lessons: the full 2026 penalty table (Cabinet Decision No. 129 of 2025, in force from 14 April 2026), UAE e-invoicing and its timeline, interview preparation with model answers, and how to put the course on your CV.
- Blog: every post rewritten with worked examples, checklists and FAQs, plus three new guides (UAE e-invoicing, the 2026 penalty table, and the 2026 sugar-based excise on sweetened drinks), each with a featured image from the simulator.
- Fixes: Smart Auto-fill now adds up several items in the same Excise category; a return opened from a client file always files for the business you have selected; refund claims sent twice at once are checked safely.
The story course: The Desk at Al Noor
- The course became a story: you join a fictional Dubai tax firm as a junior associate and work through 16 chapters with 14 fictional clients.
- Every chapter has a scene, your mission, conversations with clients, your mentor and a fictional FTA contact-centre agent, a spot-the-mistake check, a confidence checklist and a quiz.
- Smart Auto-fill: fill a registration, any return or a service request from a client file, with a note explaining every figure. Free to use; you still review, declare and submit.
- One UAE Pass, several businesses: register as many practice companies as your credits allow and switch between them with the Taxable person selector, like the real portal.
- New services: VAT refund application (the amount comes from your filed returns), Voluntary Disclosure, and VAT registration amendment.
- Excise Tax on sweetened drinks follows the 2026 sugar-content rates: AED 1.09, AED 0.79 or AED 0 per litre.
